OTHER THEATRE ORGAN SPECIFICATION FACTS |
Quoting J.McGee, Atlanta, GA. PAGE ORGANS: Page built only three 4-manual horseshoe consoles. The first was the former WHT radio studio (Chicago, IL) now being installed in Stephenson High School's auditorium, located near Stone Mountain, GA., and, if I remember the order correctly, the second was the Catalina Island, the third being the Embassy (former Emboyd) Theatre - Fort Wayne, IN. All three consoles have basically the same shell decor - the major difference was the WHT console - the trim around the keydesk edge was an egg-dart-bead moulding. The other consoles had the standard rope-edge moulding used by Page. The Embassy and WHT consoles had two full main rails of stopkeys, and a single row (sub or partial) rail on each side. The Catalina console had three main rails and no subs. The organs were similar in size. Chicago was a 4/15, Catalina a 4/16, and Fort Wayne a 4/15. |
