BUDDY COLE”S STUDIO ORGAN

Based on #1731, a Wurlitzer 3-17 Style 260 Special installed in the United Artists Theatre, Los Angeles, CA., plus additional ranks, primarily from a 3-manual Robert Morton organ installed in a theater in Marshalltown, IA, then in radio station KMTR, Los Angeles, Ca., and then in Cole’s first residence studio.

Notes:
1. Stops are identified as RM (Robert Morton), W (Wurlitzer), and MC (Marr & Colton). All unmarked stops are derived from the original Wurlitzer ranks.
2. The “Vibraharp” was a second Chrysoglott that Cole intended to add a vibraphone mechanism to, but never did.
3. Chamber locations are shown (on Great and Solo manual 8' stops). * = Solo, blank = Main.
4. All percussions, traps and effects were in a third chamber under separate expression.
5. The original installation had 32' Diaphone and 16' Tibia extensions. These were left behind when Cole removed the organ from the theatre.
6. The Chinese Block, Tom Tom, Tambourine and Morton Snare Drum listed with the Pedal stops may have been played from the Accompaniment manual.
7. This is the “as-installed” stoplist, with all odd placements as found on the console.
8. Wiring changes were made in the theater some time in the 1930s to change the Pedal 8' Saxophone to 8' Quintadena and add the 2 2/3' Tibia 12th on the Great.
