KEY TRAVEL AND PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS PER CARLTON SMITH:

Below is all AGO standard as applies:

Pedal key travel = (AGO 1/2")

Weight 2.5 -3.0 lbs at front line of sharps.

Tension is with weight balanced at 1/2 travel.

Contact makes at 1/2 travel

Manual key travel = 1st touch (AGO is 5/16" -3/8" scant)

(T.O. usually 5/16"-9/32")

Weight AGO 3.25- 3.75 oz (I use 3.5 in my T.O. restorations)

Tension is with the weight balanced at 1/2 travel with the weight located at the point of playing of the key if front of the sharps.

(NOTE: You need to have the key contacts installed and part of the equation.) Contacts make at 1/2 travel. Manual Key travel = 2nd Touch as close to 1/8" as you can get. Weight as measure from average original Wurlitzer is 22 oz.. Tension is with weight balanced at 1/2 travel. Contacts make at a little past 1/2 travel to prevent bleeding through.
